Author Guidelines

Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to the Jurnal Teknologi Mesin dan Otomotif (JTMO) are required to comply with the following guidelines.

1. Scope and Types of Manuscripts

JTMO accepts manuscripts in the form of:

  • Original research articles

  • Scientific or conceptual review articles

  • Case studies and technological development papers

All submissions must align with the journal’s scope in mechanical engineering technology and automotive engineering.

2. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review by another journal.

  • Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English.

  • Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts.

  • Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism and publication misconduct.

3. Article Structure

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  1. Title

  2. Authors’ Names and Affiliations

  3. Abstract and Keywords

  4. Introduction

  5. Research Methodology

  6. Results and Discussion

  7. Conclusion

  8. Acknowledgements (optional)

  9. References

4. Manuscript Format

  • Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word format.

  • The recommended length is 8–15 pages, including tables and figures.

  • Tables and figures must be clearly labeled and cited in the text.

  • Units and symbols should follow the International System of Units (SI).

5. Citation and References

  • Citations and references must follow the journal’s reference style.

  • Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.

  • References should primarily consist of recent and relevant primary sources (published within the last 10 years).

6. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the Online Journal System (OJS).

  • Authors must complete all required article metadata accurately.

7. Publication Fee

  • The Article Processing Charge (APC) is IDR 150,000.

  • A fast-track publication service is available for IDR 200,000.

  • Fees are payable only after the manuscript is accepted.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
